Headband in Light Sage

Holly PitcherComment

I had a custom order the other day and I absolutely fell in love with it. Just because I own a lot of colors doesn't mean that I have seen them all made up in to wonderful creations. This tying Headband is made in Light Sage. It is a discontinued color so I have limited stock and I'm kicking myself for not trying to order more before it was gone. Oh well, I will just have to enjoy it while I can ;)

Her full order was just as adorable and I can only imagine how they will all look in a picture

Go Scouts

This summer I was able to attend the Scout Day Camp in our area. I am a cub scout leader (yet to get my lovely shirt) and am thoroughly enjoying spending this time with Bryce. This was my first Day Camp and it was so much fun! Hot...but fun ;)

They had the Jr ROTC there to take the kids through an obstacle course which I think the kids had the most fun. They learned about safety and had team building exercises. I was so glad to be able to attend and can't wait til next year...GO SCOUTS!!!

Bryce working is way through the course. So proud of him!!!

During the team building exercises they had to get these boards across the "hot lava" and then bring there team across. Bryce ended up knocking his nose on the board and tried to be so brave and not cry in front of the other boys. He asked me for a hug so that he could hide his tears and when he felt better he turned around and tried again. I was so proud of him and was even more thankful that he still wants my hugs in public, lol.

Nicole (another leader) and I roped in to helping the boys assemble their first aid kits...

and yes I did end up with a sunburn on the backs of my arms and neck, great fun!

Picture perfect...

Like the pic? I do!!! This is from one of the many vacations we took this summer. This one happens to be up at Bryce Canyon, Utah. The Hubby's work purchased a toy hauler for employee use so we made the trek north to enjoy the weekend. We invited Papa J and the horses to make the weekend complete. It is so beautiful up there and if you haven't been I definitely suggest making it a priority. We hiked, rode horses and relaxed. It was the perfect way to spend a summer weekend!!! Get ready for picture overload ;)

We went hiking along one of the equestrian trails and so these gnarly looking trees. Coolest thing ever!!!

Jayna along with the Hubby being silly. Took like 5 shots and each one was worse. They couldn't quite grasp the concept ;)

The one I want blown up for my wall...

Up in the canyon...beautiful!!

The kids getting a kick out of a cow pie, lol

While Maddie, Noah and I stayed to ride horses with Papa J, the Hubby took the other two to enjoy a hike in the canyon. I just love when I turn the camera over to him and see what they comes up with.

It was such a fun experience. The kids were a little nervous up in the canyon. Some of those drop offs were a little intimidating, but they overcame their fears and made the most of it. Better yet the trailer was like Christmas in August. Much better than a tent :)

My word....

I can not believe it has been so long since my last post. This summer has just flown by and I am left sitting here wondering where the time has gone. Life has been crazy busy and it seems like I am barely staying afloat. Sometime in mid July I looked at my fridge and saw this...

I hadn't even had time to change my calendar out...yikes!!! Well now we're well into August and as I looked at my fridge again I've yet to change the calender. One day at a time right?

In all the hullabaloo I did manage to come up with a little something that I'm super excited about...

And to top it off I realized my Zumba instructor is one amazing photographer!!! Amber of Carly Grace Photography was able to capture my newest creation just perfectly...

Isn't this little guy just scrumptious?

Hibernation is over

I have wanted to make some fuzzy bears beanies for what seems like forever and I thought now is as good a time as any. Yeah, I know it's like 103 where I live, but here's to the future and the cold the winter brings. But for today let's celebrate the fact that hibernation is over and Bear's are out to play ;)

Check!

Ever since the movie the Bucket List came out I have had these thoughts about what would be on mine. I haven't actually written anything down...which I know is part of the process, but seeing as I don't have to many at the moment its okay ;)

One of the things that I've wanted to do is donate my hair to locks of love. And I wanted to do it before I started going grey. Reason being I have never colored my hair except for once in 1998 when I put some highlights in and never kept them up. I love the color of my hair (vain I know) and my biggest fear is finding the color to match once the inevitable happens. This is where Locks of love comes in. For some reason I thought you could only donate untreated hair so I figured this is the time to donate, ya know before the coloring starts, but I was wrong. They take just about every kind! That was nice to find out ;)

Well, anyway, with my business I get a lot of customers wanting hats as gifts for those who have lost their hair ie cancer, disease, etc. And I always feel so blessed to be able to help in some small way, but I wanted to do more. And Locks of Love was the perfect answer. So I placed it on my bucket list and started to let my hair grow. And beleive me it was way to long for me...I was going crazy! I don't know how people do it. My last straw was when the wind was blowing like crazy and I went to get in the car and after I shut the door found it was caught in the door...ouch! I am happy to say that I was able to check something off of my Bucket list ;)

So here is the before...

And here's the after...

I must say I love it!! It is so easy and so much faster to do. I have the thickest hair on the planet and it would take forever to blowdry now it's all of 5 minutes and I am in Heaven!! Who knew ;)
